INVENTORY ASSOCIATE

Position: Inventory Associate

This position is responsible for inventory control and inventory management. These activities include maintaining an inventory database, inventory cycle counts, solving inventory discrepancies, and assisting with/organizing physical inventories.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procedures, systems, and best practices with regard to inventory management.
  • Responsible for overall inventory management, accuracy, and reconciliation in inventory database by tracking and addressing discrepancies between physical and system counts.
  • Analyze and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly inventory levels, as required.
  • Count all finished goods and packaging in warehouses on a cycle count, and reconcile them against the inventory database.
  • Build & maintain internal data tracking tools using Excel and inventory management database (Dynamics 365).
  • Create and update templates and summaries with production team input and maintain dashboards to interpret data from production processes.
  • Identify gaps in inventory control and build solution-based models with available information.
  • Assist in designing processes and systems for new products.
  • Create and train staff on cycle count procedures for inventory management.
  • Assist processing and packaging teams in the management and usage of inventory software.
  • Daily audits of employee data entry on tracking tools against system/count data. Enter audited data into summary databases.
  • Daily review of processing and packaging events/records to ensure accurate data logging and acceptable variances.
  • Report discrepancies and assist in root cause investigations.
  • Maintain and change existing databases based on manufacturing or management decisions
  • Support general maintenance of the inventory system to ensure all required fields are filled in correctly and communicate required action.
  • Create consolidated inventory reports and inventory forecasts on a regular basis.
  • Assist in month-end inventory counts (preparation and execution).
  • Assist in month-end inventory reconciliation for financial, Health Canada, and CRA reporting.
  • Perform weekly cycle count reports for Raw material, packaging components, and finished goods

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in scheduling, purchasing, and material planning in a multi-site, growth-oriented organization
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data, problem solve and make recommendations.
  • Hands-on experience with physical inventory management, software, and databases.
  • Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines.
  • Previous experience in the Cannabis Industry is an asset
